Hey Stingrays! 

I am BEYOND excited to see everyone this week, and VERY thankful that we have had a week or two in the 80's and 90's to help us start this season off with a warmer pool! I just wanted to say a few things before practice starts tomorrow: 

1. WHAT TO BRING 
Make sure your child has goggles, a comfortable swim suit, and a towel! Swim caps are also encouraged, but not required. 

2. WEATHER POLICY 
Unfortunately, this week is looking a lot like scattered thunderstorms. Our policy is that if we hear thunder or see lightning, we clear the pool deck and wait 30 minutes since the last strike or rumble before getting back in. If it is just raining, we will still swim! 

3. FORMS 
Please make sure that you have all your forms turned in to our Team President, Tracy Murdock ASAP. We need to make sure we have everything in order for the league! 

4. COACHES 
I would formally like to introduce our assistant and junior coaches, for anyone that does not know already. Our assistant coach this year is Alex Lessley, and our Junior Coaches are Nicholas Kruegler, Cassidy Richards, Katie Nguyen, and Jenna Lister. I am so pumped to have these guys and gals on board with me this year and know they're going to do a wonderful job with our Stingrays!

5. AFTER-SCHOOL PRACTICES 
I currently work nights, so for the first two weeks of practice since they are after school, I will have to leave at around 5:35 PM to get to work, which means I will miss some of the 9/10 practice and the 11/12 practice. Coach Alex will be heading up the practice after I have to leave. 

6. IMPORTANT DATES
I have a couple of important dates for everyone to mark in their calendars for the season! (These are TENTATIVE and subject to change if needed, but this is the current plan!) 

• Thursday, May 24 - Practice Meet
• Monday, May 28 - NO PRACTICE (Memorial Day)
• Thursday, May 31 - Meet #1 HOME vs. Maple Ridge
• Thursday, June 7 - Meet #2 AWAY vs. Hidden Falls
• Thursday, June 14 - Meet #3 HOME vs. Rivershyre // Senior Night, Goofy Relays, Parent Relays
• Tuesday, June 19 - Team Bonding at the Gwinnett Stripers Game 7:05 PM
• Thursday, June 21 - Meet #4 HOME vs. Edgewater
• Tuesday, June 26 - Teen Tubing in Helen (13 & ups only)  // NO PRACTICE for 12 & unders
• Thursday, June 28 - Meet #5 AWAY vs. Richland 
• Monday, July 2 - Meet #6 AWAY vs. Berkshire
• Friday, July 13 - County Carb Load 2K18
• Saturday-Sunday, July 14-15 - County Championships
• Tuesday, July 17 - Team Banquet

Happy Mothers' Day to all you Stingray moms out there! You all have raised rockstar kids, and your hard work doesn't go unnoticed! I hope they have spoiled you all today! (If not, let me know and I'll reserve a special lane for them tomorrow). (:

I can't believe it's finally here, but I am ready for this season. I can't wait to see all my Stingrays again and welcome our newest members! See you all at the pool!
