Weekly info:)
Hey everyone!
It was so much fun seeing you all at our first practice! This email is LONG because I will be repeating a lot of info from past emails, but please read through to make sure you don't miss anything because new info is also here.
First of all, just a few items about practice.
1. Please do not try to have conversations with Coaches during practice. Communicate through email if at all possible. The practice times leave no room for wiggle and the coaches need to keep their eyes on the swimmers. If there is something about swim in general, between myself, Nancy Hamrick, Meg Lovejoy, and Danielle Butera, there is typically always someone at practice who can help out.
2. If it is not your kiddos practice, they should NOT be in the pool. Not even toes on the steps. Trust us, it goes from toes on the steps to trying to take a lap in just a few practices. We want to make sure coaches are able to run practices efficiently without worrying about someone rolling around at the end of the lane.

Remind App:
We use the remind app so that we can communicate up to the minute information. This will be important if we have to delay practices/meets due to weather, chemicals are off in the pool so we are moving to the other pool , etc. Please join NOW by sending a text to the number 81010 that says @ssrays If you have teens that are going back and forth to practice on their own, have them join this as well.
Mandatory Parent Meeting:
We still have many parents still needing to attend. We will do one last one on Monday May 22 @730. To make sure we get all registered parents a chance to join the meeting, we will CLOSE registration officially on May 21st at 7PM. If you want your friend to join, now is the time! Link will be sent out closer to the time
Picture Day:
Has now been rescheduled for the day of our first meet, May 25th. If you would like an individual picture, please be there as close to 330 as possible. At 445 we will line up for the group picture, take the group picture, and then go straight into preparing for warm ups. Order form attached to this email.

Starters and Stroke Judges:
As you know, we need everyone to volunteer in order to make the team run smoothly! One great way to volunteer and get the best view at the pool is to be a stroke and turn judge! The training is offered via Zoom, details below. This does need to be redone every 2 years, so if you didn't take it last year, please take it this year! The league has also decided to create and offer an ON DEMAND course! The documents to that training are attached to this email. Please take the training if you are interested at all in being a judge! And I promise you do not have to know a lot about swimming! The training tells you exactly what to look for!

Volunteer Signs up and Declarations:
This year we are going to be more digital than in previous years. There will be no more texting Coach or a board member the weekend before a meet stating you will not be here. Instead, you will go into your SwimTopia and declare your intent to be at the meet. If you do not declare, you will NOT be seeded to swim. We will not assume that you are coming unless it is in the system. Volunteer assignment will also all be done online. Both volunteer choices and meet declarations need to be completed by the Sunday prior to a meet. Those sign up will be out asap
