NOTES:
- WHAT IS A PRACTICE MEET?
The practice meet serves for every swimmer to get a base time for every short event for which they are eligible.- 6 & unders will swim a 25 freestyle and 25 backstroke,
- 8 & unders and 9/10’s will swim a 25 of each stroke
- 11/12’s, 13/14’s, and 15-18’s will swim a 50 of each stroke
- WHAT DO I BRING?
Make sure you / your swimmer bring: suit, goggles, cap, towel, sunscreen, water, chairs/blankets to sit on, weather-appropriate clothing. - PATIENCE
This is a practice meet, so please be patient with us as we do our best to iron out any hold-ups and make sure your swimmers get a good understanding of the process. - BULLPENS
Swimmers need to stay in their bullpens to be called for their race. Please help us in making sure they stay where they’re supposed to. - FUN FRIDAY
There is NO Fun Friday after this meet. We will do Fun Fridays after the regular season meets. - VILLAGE OF HOPE
We are taking donations of juice boxes for Village of Hope at this meet. Bring your donations to the bin in the concession stand area at the meet. - CONCESSIONS
For this meet, the concession stand will only have pizza, drinks, and snacks. - TEAM DONATIONS
Make sure to also bring in your donations for the team by last name. Refer to Tracy’s email sent on 5/17 if you are unsure about what your family is assigned. - JOB ASSIGNMENTS
Please make sure you know what your job assignment is for Thursday night and that you are prepared to be there and do that job! The excel sheet was attached to the email Tracy sent tonight (5/24). - NEW SWIMMERS
If a swimmer knows how to swim a stroke, they will swim it in the meet. Whether they're perfect or not, whether they like it or not, whether they'll get DQ'd (disqualified) or not. It's a learning experience and helps us as coaches see our shortcomings. The only exceptions I will make are for 6&unders that cannot make it by themselves yet. In that case we'll talk about it and come up with a plan/solution.
Thank you! I'll see everyone at practice and at the meet!
Coach Danielle
